The three beaches of Marve, Manori and Gorai are one of the most popular holiday destinations
for the tourists and residents of Mumbai and Maharashtra, who keep going there to enjoy the sublime beauty and pleasant atmosphere of these places.

Located towards the north of Mumbai, free from the hustle and bustle of maddening crowd are these beaches, which are sometimes referred to as the 3 gems. The closest of all these three beaches is Marve, which is a quiet and beautiful fishing village.

Out here you will also find some big and beautiful bunglows which belongs to the rich and famous of Mumbai who use it as weekend holiday homes. The beaches are surrounded by low lying hills which add more beauty and importance to it.

The other two beaches, Gorai and Manori are a little further from Marve and are more crowded. They are mostly known for their all night beach parties. These two beaches are for avid party lovers.

These beaches are small but throbbing with life, yet untouched by the rapid expansion and industrialization. Amidst the crowd and noise, they are still able to retain the charm and elegance. The sunrises and sunsets viewed from here are some of the best sights that one can see.

They are just so relaxing and enriching. The atmosphere out here offers a refreshing change from all the hustle and bustle of modern age’s busy life. The three beaches are suitable for all kinds of moods and desires. Whether you want to have some wild unlimited beach fun or just chill out sunbathing along the beach, you can do it all.

During the colonial era these beaches were frequented by the English and the Portuguese and their impact is evident in the local culture. The Manori beach will remind you of Goa which is mostly inhabited by the group of East Indians, who belong to a particular Catholic group native to Mumbai area. There are a lot of chapels and churches in this area. These beaches are clean, safe, lively and at the same time very peaceful and energising.

There are a host of things you can do out here. From simple sight-seeing and beach hopping to sunbathing and relaxing along the beach, visiting the nearby villages, meeting the local communities to wild partying along the beaches and many more.

More than the tourist attractions it is the atmosphere of this place which makes it all the more fun and exciting. Besides the three beautiful beaches other interesting places you can visit out here are Essel World, Madh fort and Global Vipassana Pagoda. This is a great place to visit with all your friends and family.

Being close to Mumbai it is quite easy to get there. By car it will just take about 40 kms. The nearest railway station is at Malad. You can also take a ferry to go here from Marve or Borivali.          For accommodation there are plenty of comfortable and affordable hotels. Homestays are also available.

Best time to visit – February and October to December.
