After winning the bids against Austria, South Korea and Salzburg the Russia was selected to host the winter Olympics of 2014

It is very official to start the games of Olympics with torch and relay and this time the relay covered the distance of 64,000 kilometres lifting the torch and trailing in to the Europe’s highest peak, Lake Baikal, space orbit and many more.
Logo, Mascots and Slogan
The logo of the Sochi Olympics considered the mass influence of Khokhloma and the slogan of the Olympics was Hot, Cool and yours which reflected the basic infrastructure of the Olympics of the game.
Mascots- the official mascots of the Sochi Olympics which was unveiled in 26 February 2011 revealed the postures of snow leopard, polar bear and snow hare.

In order to welcome the sole of the game the government and postal department of the Russian federation released the sequence of the postage stamps reflecting the perks of Athletes, venues and the mascots of the games. Beside that central bank of Russia or the Bank of Russia issued exclusive coins and 100 rubble notes for the games.

Russian top the chart with 13 gold medals which was flowed by Norway with 11 gold medals, Canada with 10 gold medals, United States of America with 9, Netherlands and Germany shared their runs with 8 gold medals, Switzerland with 6, Belarus with five and last but not the least Austria and France with 4 gold medals each.
