Marine Drive a Must Landmark of Mumbai

The Marine Drive is one of the most well-known and popular points of Mumbai
. It is a 4.3 kms long boulevard which is located in South Mumbai, the capital city of Maharashtra. This ‘C’ shaped six lane concrete road lies along the coast which is a natural bay. It links the posh Nariman point to Babulnath and Malabar Hill. The official name of this road is Netali Subash Chandra Bose road, but it is rarely used. The locals fondly call this place as Sonapur road. This is a very popular hangout spot, where not only the tourists but even the locals come to enjoy the beautiful view of the Arabain Sea and the cool pleasant breeze that blows through it. 

The most attractive sight here is that of the setting sun, which is totally enthralling. This place is also known as Queen’s necklace, as the street light makes the road look like a string of pearls when its glows. The Chowpathy beach – this beach which is the oldest seafront lies towards the northern end of Marine drive. It is mostly famous for its bazaars and meals. This place is also close to the Walkeshwar temple which is very famous and highly revered. The best time to visit this place would be during the festival of Ganesh chathurthi, which is considered to be the biggest gala of this city.
