Indroda Nature Park is located in Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat
, in India. The park is considered as one of the top tourist attractions of the city. Spread over an area of about 468 hectares, the nature park is placed along the banks of the Sabarmati River. Indroda Nature Park is the second largest hatchery that has got the dinosaur eggs in the entire world and it is managed by the Gujarat Ecological Education and Research Foundation (GEER). It is the only dinosaur museum in the country and it includes a huge botanical garden, interpretation center, massive skeletons of sea mammals like the blue whale, a zoo and also provides camping facilities. The place also houses a Wilderness Park which is inhabited by diverse species of birds, reptiles, langurs, hundreds of nilgais and peafowl within its vast forest area. It is a perfect destination for nature lovers and is visited by tourists from different parts of the country.


Attractions
Along the span of time, the flora and fauna of this place has increased tremendously, with the park including some rare and endangered species. The place provides a wide range of facilities for research and interpretation of floral and faunal species along with a natural history museum. 

Dinosaur Section
The park holds a section for dinosaur eggs hatchery. The dinosaur section of this nature park holds a wide collection of fossilized eggs, skeletons and skin impressions of dinosaurs. These things prove to the existence of dinosaurs in India in the early times. The fossils that can be seen at this place are said to be existing since 65 million years ago, which is quite amusing as the fossils are still in the same place. The dinosaurs’ eggs of different size and structure can also be seen over here. Some of these eggs look like a huge cannon ball. Visitors can only view and take pictures of the eggs and fossils, as touching them is strictly prohibited. Some of rare species of dinosaur skeletons that can be also seen at this place are Tyrannosaurus rex, Brachiosaurus, Barapasaurus, lguanodon, Antarctosaurus, Stegosaurus and Megalosaurus. 


Zoo Section
The Indroda Nature Park also has a different section for a variety of wild animals. The species of wild animals that you can see at this place are leopard, blackbuck, antelopes, tiger, sambar, jackal and few others. These animals are kept in a large enclosure that includes the best possible natural environment for them. The park is also visited by about 201 varieties of birds during seasons, with 65 varieties coming here during the breeding season. About 31 varieties of birds have been kept in the walk-in aviary for the bird watchers. 

Reptile and Marine Animal Sections
The place also houses a different section for reptiles, which includes tortoises, snakes, crocodiles and few other species of reptiles. As for the marine section of the nature park, it includes dolphins, whales and skeletons and replicas of different aquatic animals. Botanical garden and geological garden has also been developed at this place, which are very much popular among the visitors. 

Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit the place is during the months of October to February, as the region experiences a pleasant climate during this time of the year. 

Accommodation
Except for the few camping sites the nature park does not facilitate any other type of accommodation facilities. However, the close by areas of the Indroda Nature Park is dotted with several numbers of budget, mid-budget and luxury hotels that offer excellent staying facilities to their guests.


How to Reach

By Road: As the nature park is located in the Sector 8 of Gandhinagar, the capital city of Gujarat, the place can be reached from different parts of the state, such as Ahmadabad, Vadodra, Rajkot, Vadhana and others. Regular state owned buses and private luxury buses are available to this place from different parts of the state. 

By Air: The nearest airport to this place is in Ahmadabad, located at a distance of about 30 km. The airport operates regular flights to different parts of India, such as Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur and others. Local and hired taxis are available from the airport to the place.
By Rail: The nearest major railway station to this place is in Ahmadabad, located at a distance of about 30 km. The station is well connected with various major cities in India, such as Jammu, Jaipur, Nagpur, Guwahati, Amritsar etc. Regular taxi services are available from outside the station to get to the place.


Baikunthpur is a picturesque town, which is located in the Koriya district of Chhattisgarh
. Previously a part of the princely state that belonged to King Sheomangal Singh Deo, the town is now popular for its several coal mines.  Besides the coal mines, the place is also filled with many scenic spots that are very much popular among the tourists. There are several numbers of waterfalls located close to this town, which from the major part of the tourist attraction of Baikunthpur. These waterfalls are also act as popular picnic spots of the region. Another special feature about this place is its fast food corners that offer a variety of delicious fast foods.

Attractions

Amrit Dhara Waterfall-The waterfall is located at a distance of about 7 km from Nagpur, on the way to Manendragarh to Baikunthpur. It is located on the Hadso River, at a height of about 90 ft above sea level. The waterfall cascades down from a height of about 15 ft and offers a spectacular view of the surrounding areas. There is also a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva close to this fall. The fall and the temple are visited by a large number of tourists. The chief attraction of this place is a fair, which was initiated in 1936 by Ramanuj Pratap Singh Judeo, the King of Koriya State. The fair takes place during the festival of Mahashivratri.



Akuri Nala- It is another popular waterfall of this area, which is known for its scenic surroundings. This charming waterfall is located close to Bansipur village and is abounded by lush green forests and rocks. This place experiences a cold climate due to which, it attracts a lot of tourists.

Gavar Ghat Waterfall-It is another fascinating waterfall, which is located on river Hadso. Located at a height of about 60 ft above sea level, the waterfall is abounded by dense forests and rocks. Tourists can also visit another fall close to the Gavar Ghat Waterfall, located a distance of about 5 km.

Ramdhara Waterfall-The waterfall is located in the Bhavarkhoh village, along the banks of Banas River. The fall is placed at a height of about 100 to 120 ft, with a width of about 25 ft and is popular among the tourists for its picturesque surroundings.

The best time to visit the place is during the months of October to March.

By Air: The nearest airport to this place is the Raipur airport, located at a distance of about 245 km. The airport is well connected with various major parts in the country like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmadabad, Bhopal etc. Regular taxi services are available outside the airport to get to the place. 

By Train: The nearest railway station to this place is Annupur Railway Station, located at a distance of about 128 km. The station is well connected with Delhi. The other nearest railway station, which has better connectivity, is Bilaspur Railway Station, located at a distance of about 204 km. Local and hired taxis are available from these stations to the town.

By Road: The town has a very good network of roads that links it with various different parts in the state as well as places in Odisha and Madhya Pradesh. Local and private buses ply from these places at regular intervals to Baikunthpur.

Events/Festivals in Coonoor
Fruit and Vegetable Festival: it is one of the most celebrated and awaited festival of Coonoor and during this call you will witness number growing in equation within the periphery of Sim’s park. To participate in this festival traveler must come here during the month of May to go bouncing with it.

Tea and Tourism Festival: it is one of the significant festivals of Coonoor and this festival marks around the month of January to celebrate an essence of tea plantation.

Mahabalipuram beach, which is also known as the Mamallapuram beach is one of the best tourist destinations
in Tamil Nadu. The beach is located at a distance of about 58 km towards south of Chennai and about 100 km towards north of Pondicherry. This fabulous golden sand beach is located on the east coast of India, on the shores of Bay of Bengal. There are plenty of attractions on this beach like the caves, chariots, temples and rock cut sculptures making this place a perfect destination for a beach holiday. A large number of tourists come to this place to enjoy the scenic surrounding of this place, throughout the year.


Activities
The beach is very much popular among the international tourists for sun bathing. Adventure sports activities like wind surfing, motor boating and diving are provided at this beach. Another place of interest at this place is the crocodile farm where about 5000 crocodiles of 6 different species are bred. Snake venom extracting center and a school of art and sculpture are also some of the must visit destinations of this beach.

Attractions
A Dance festival is held at this place during the month of January and February by the Department of Tourism of Tamil Nadu, which is attended by thousands of tourists from around the country. The event lasts over a month where both classical and folk dance performances are performed against the stunning backdrop of the Pallava rock sculptures. Some other attractions of this place are as follows.

Dakshinachitra- It is a heritage center where traditional crafts are displayed from different parts of the south Indian states. Cultural programs are also performed by the folk artists at this place.

Five Rathas- Five Rathas are the five monolithic temples that have been structured in different styles from the other and are known as the Pancha Pandava Rathas. Among these, four of the temples are built out of a large single rock. 

Tiger's Cave- The caves are located at a close distance from the beach, which hold a tranquil and calm atmosphere, making it a perfect place to relax.  

Shore Temple- The temple, which dates back to the early 8th century, is considered as one of the oldest temples in south India. It is a perfect example of the Dravidian style of architecture.


Arjuna's Penance-One of the world’s biggest bas-relief creation that measures to a height of about 27m and 9m in width is one of the top attractions of Mahabalipuram. The structure is in a shape of a whale where figures of Gods, Demigods, birds and beasts can be seen. In fact, the structure is believed to represent the entire creation of the almighty.

By Road: Mahabalipuram has a very good network of roads that connects the place by regular bus services from places like Kanchipuram (66 km), Chengalpattu (29 km), Pondicherry (100 km) and Chennai (58 km). Tourists can also opt to hire a taxi from Chennai. 
BY Train: The closest train stations to this place are Chengalpattu (29 km) and Chennai (58 km). Both taxi and bus services are available from these stations to Mahabalipuram.
