Grand Teton National Park is one of the top
tourist attractions of United States, which is located at a distance of about 16 km south of Yellowstone National Park. The park covers an area of about 310,000 acres occupying the majority of the Jackson Hole valley. The immense popularity of this national park is the inclusion of majestic mountains, captivating lakes and rivers, along with the abundance of wildlife inhabitants. 


The region was declared as a national park on 26th February 1929. The Teton Range, which towers to a height of about 7,000 ft above ground level, is one of the chief highlights of the park. The highest and the most prominent peak among the Teton Range is the Grand Teton, standing to a height of about 13,770 ft. Towards the south of the Grand Teton, the other prominent peaks of the region are Middle Teton, South Teton and Cloudveil Dome. The neighboring spectacular peaks of the range are especially Mount Owen, Teewinot Mountain, and Mount Moran.

Best Times to Visit
The park can be visited throughout the year as the different seasons of the year offer different facilities to experience in the Grand Teton National Park. The Northern Rockies of the park can be visited during the summer, autumn and winter seasons. During these times of the year, the days are bright and sunny along with the low humidity making your visit to this place a pleasurable one. The region experiences rain fall and considerable amount of snow fall during the spring season and the trails of the park remains blocked with snow and mud. From the mid June onwards, one can enjoy various kinds of activities at this place like camping, hiking, fishing and observing the wildlife. The summer season also witnesses the blooming of wild flowers dotted along the region. The winters is also a quite glorious season of the place, even though it is not for everyone, as it gets very cold during this time of the year. The snow covered slopes of the park is ideal for skiing during the winter season. It is advisable to carry warm clothes during this time of the year.

How to Reach
By Air: The nearest airport to the national park is Jackson Hole Airport, which is located within the park boundaries, towards the western side of the Wyoming Centennial Scenic Byway.   

By Road: The national park can be accessed by various modes of transportation through road from all the four sides, i.e. north, south, east and west. The northern part of the park can be accessed through U.S. Highways 89, 191 and 287 via Yellowstone National Park, but it remains closed from November to April due to heavy snow fall. U.S. Highways 26, 89 and 191 share a road from Jackson, which will take you to the southern part of the national park. U.S Highway 26 will also take you the eastern part of the park. As for the U.S. Highway 89, it will get you to the western part of the place.
