Gangtok is an ultimate holiday destination
that attracts people from all walks of life through its scenic beauty, diverse culture, rich heritage, orchids, beautiful monasteries and other architectural wonders.

Deer Park also known as Rustamji Park, situated adjacent to the new secretariat building, is named after Rustamji, who was one among the ‘Dewans’ of the ‘Chogyal’ of Sikkim, who is also claimed to be the
author of the most cherished book ‘Enchanted Frontiers’. It serves as an important landmark in Gangtok, and is gaining popularity amongst the tourist attractions. It also serves as a vintage point because from here, one can see the mesmerizing views of the adjoining hilly areas. Established in the late 1950’s, it is famous for being the home to several species of deer. 
 The numerous species of deer found in this park are brought from several parts of Sikkim as well as the adjoining regions. The park has an open enclosure where you will mostly see deer all around, but it also embraces few cages for animals like Red Panda, Himalayan Bear and some others. 

The interesting part of this park is its sprawling garden, the serenity of the place and a nice pavement to walk around and one can take the pleasure of what nature has to offer here. It is one of the decent places in Sikkim to stroll and spend quality time too. Mostly for the kids it’s an excellent place to hang around as they can stroll around without fear and easily spot the deer and long horned antelopes.



 Besides being a cool, calm and serene place the thing that grabs people attraction towards itself is also the erect statue of Lord Buddha, preaching the noble truths to his followers. It is said to be a resemblance of the first sermon of Lord Buddha, which is located at Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh. This park has also been known to be built to honor the rebirth of Lord Buddha as a Musk Deer. In the forefront of this statue you will also get to see a Butter Lamp, which is surrounded by the range of beautiful flowers and the lamp you witness here glows continuously.

While you are at this park you can also pay a visit to the nearby attractions which is also other great natural phenomenon such as White Hall, Himalayan Zoological Park, Orchid Sanctuary, Ganesh Tuk, and many more. Morning time would be the best time to visit the park as there is more chances to spot the deer easily who has come out for their early meals. 


Dzongri Trek

The trekking trails of Dzongri is considered to be one of the most traditional and easy as compare to other trekking camps of Sikkim
. The trails that bend through the walks of Yuksom, Tshoka and Dzongri would take approximately 9 days but while walking through the bends you would experience the feast of mountains.

Often considered as paradise for trekkers the journey here would give you panoramic view of Mt Pandim and Kanchenjunga which is complimented by the bits of nature. Wonderful relief and lush green ambience would give you company till the moment you will strike at top of Dzongri.

Trekking routes- while conquering the height of Dzongri that stands at an elevation of 4020 m you will pass through the bends of Yuksom, Tshoka and then Dzongri.

Best time to trek- consider coming here during the months of March and June to experience the best out of Dzongri.



Goecha La Trek

The trekking route of Goecha La starts from dense forest and ends up within the tranquillity of terrain. Perched at an elevation of 4940 m above from sea level the journey here can be considered to be one of the hardest trekking trails within Sikkim.

To reach the summit one would require walking for around 7 and half days but while doing the same make sure to understand that you will be offer an opportunity to witness timeless beauty of Kanchenjunga.

Trekking trails- to reach the height of Goecha La one would require walking through the trails of Yuksom which is followed by the base camps like Sachen, Phedang, Dzongri, Thansing and Lamune.

Best time to trek- to trek the distance of Goecha la expect coming here during the months of April and May.

Sikkim Khangchendzonga Trek

Trekking trails that starts from the helms of lush green ambience speaks about the heights of glory. Quaintly located at an elevation of 4940 m a journey here would give you a real delight of trekking as it passes through Nepal-Sikkim border while giving you an opportunity to explore the most extravagant wonders of the surroundings.

Trekking a distance of Khangchendzonga  would take approximately 20 days and it’s a hard call and considered as one of the challenging trails when it comes to trekking within the brilliance of Sikkim.

Trekking trails- one would require walking from the site of Yuksom which is followed by the bends of Tshoka, Dzongri, Rahthong and Goecha la.

Best time to trek- when it comes to an ideal time to scale towering altitude of Khangchendzonga expect coming here during the months of April and May.


Tholung Trek

Perched perfectly at an elevation of around 2438 m the trails of Tholung are often considered as soft trails by trekkers. Ascending through a dale of chasm where you will witness the brilliance of flora and fauna the trekking here is much easy and accessible as compare to other trails that surrounds within a site of Sikkim.

To reach the height of Tholung one would require walking for 9 days and while making your way towards the summit you will come across the pristine beauty of areas which is manipulated by the grandeur of nature.

Trekking trails- to reach Tholung one would require making its way from Singhik which is followed by the trails of Tsana and Lingsha.

Best time to trek- in order to witness the splendour of Tholung consider coming here during the months of March and May.

Green Lake Trek

Blends of nature nestled at an ambience of Sikkim-China Border the trails to experience the calls of Green Lake passes through the thick bushes of plants, rhododendrons and other blossoms which is equally complimented by the reign of migratory birds.

Settled at an altitude of around 4935 m it would take approximately 11 days to reach the summit of Green Lake and after reaching here one can view eternal bonds of nature. Traveller must understand that Green Lake trails covers sensitive area so before they hike the distance make sure to have permit to do the same.

Trekking trails- trekking trails to reach the height of Green Lake starts from the bends of Lachen which is followed by the walks of Taleng, Jabtang, Yabuk and Green Lake.



Best time- in order to trek the distance of Green Lake expect coming here during the months of March till November.
